DURING this weeks GCC meeting Chairman D'Souza stated that the office bearers would now pay themselves an honorarium, in his case it would be £60 for the next six months. The monies would be paid out to all three office bearers, however bizarrely it will then be paid back into the GCC account - reason provided by Chairman D'Souza - to prevent ERC from recouping the cash at the end of the financial year should the monies not have been required or used for administration purposes by the CC.

SITTING throughout this announcement was Cllr Vincent Waters who made no objection, which would appear somewhat strange as he was so vocal previously about the misuse of CC funds.

That sounds really complicated...would such an honorarium not be treated as taxable income? If so they would have to declare it on their tax returns. And be out of pocket when regiving the money to the CC.

I'm no accountant, so could be wrong....

Oh, Oh, here we go again. How is £180 going to make much of a dent in the funds available in their bank account. Needs looking in to. Please remember, Alex H was there as well, and said it was ok to do that.

Remember Anne McGuire and her introduction to NMCC which was covered on a thread, and Chairman D'Souza championing of her cause, arranging and meeting with the ERC chief executive Lorraine McMillan.

At this weeks GCC meeting Mrs McGuire was in attendance, never said anything or took part, not a resident of Giffnock but was there in body.

In addition there was another attendee, not a member of the CC nor a resident of the community. However she was provided with a prominent and pre determined role, at the commencement of the meeting, which is there to discuss matters of concern to Giffnock Residents, Chairman D'Souza broke the attendees into three groups to only discuss GCC's profile / publicity (all the members then went into three groups) one of which was chaired by Lisa Marie Robertson.

These groups discussed and after which it only left 30 minutes available to the CC to discuss, the actual matters relevant to Giffnock residents.
