Strathclyde Police is about to conduct a public consultation process in respect of your neighbourhood and your perception of crime in your area. This will take place during August, September and October and will be conducted by your local community policing teams. It will consist of a short questionnaire and will be conducted at random places and times throughout East Renfrewshire. If you are consulted in relation to this, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The changes in Community Policing in East Renfrewshire is progressing well. The entire area will be serviced by staff in a Communities Policing Unit which will include specialists from the CID, Intelligence and local officers who will be able to research crimes, crime trends and hotspots in order that best use can be made of resources in your area. In addition to this the enhanced Community Police officers will make up teams, each assigned to a multi member ward area. Two sergeants will lead these teams. The emphasis will be on intelligence led, problem solving policing. Updates will be provided as additional officers become available with their contact details and their specific policing area.

A small amount of funding may available to East Renfrewshire based community groups or clubs in order to assist them with worthy causes. If you feel that your group or club has an appropriate event or cause worthy of consideration, please contact your local community officer in the first instance to discuss the matter on 0141 532 5770.
