I would encourage all East Renfrewshire Council Tax Payers/Residents to ask their Councillors that all these Committee meetings are Webcast and made available for viewing at their own convenience.

The Dates, Times and venues for committee meetings are scheduled solely for the convenience of East Renfrewshire Councillors and Council Officials.

They are not the most convenient Dates, Times and venues for Constituents/Residents.

Just because people do not sit in the Public Gallery, this is no indication that they are not interested in these committee meetings.

All these Committee meetings should be available via Webcast and/or other means.

In these modern times Constituents/Residents should be able to take advantage of modern technology and have access to democracy when and where they choose.

To witness democracy in action they should not be forced into turning up on Dates, Times and venues not of their choosing and not convenient to them.

There is minimal cost to this.

You should not have to sit in a Public Gallery at a date and time of the Councillors choosing.

You should be able to view these committee meetings at a time convenient to you.

Openness and transparency, is the Democracy we should be embracing.

East Renfrewshire Council Tax Payers ARE NOT getting value for money from the Webcasting contract.

Currently only Full Council meetings are Webcast and retained.

The contract is renewed every June.
The Contract covers a minimum of 30 Hours per year.
The contract cost is £10,951.00 per year.
