In a utopia and where Police Scotland have unlimited funds it would be wonderful if there were sufficient officers to fulfill all his wishes.

We do not see the advantage of a Police Office in Newton Mearns, or next to the charity chops of Clarkston.

We wish our police officers out on patrol, not waiting about for a customer to call in person.

In addition would in not be fandabydosy if there were 14,000 officers in Scotland and could police on the beat AND in response vehicles.

As to officers on bikes?

We feel that when a person phones for the police to attend they usually want them to attend very quickly.

How long would it take and officer to cycle from Netherlee uphill through Stamperland, Clarkston to Busby.

The initial report of a fight in a Busby pub, could well be a murder by the time the exhausted officer gets there to break up the fight.

Next up he has a go at Police Scotland again on his social media.

In respect of comparing the numbers of officers, access to vehicles and salaries.

Only he compares New York, Los Angeles and London with SCOTLAND.

Then just today he is having another go at Police Scotland claiming that they are advertising for people to apply to become 'Special Constables' as an attempt to police on the cheep and make up for a shortage of regular officers.

We would have to suggest that if this man conducted any research at all, he would find that.

UK Policing has always been required to attempt to integrate with the public by encouraging peeps to be 'Special Constables'.

In wee small villages in the middle of no where a 'Special' can be of excellent help to the local bobby.

In rural areas like Busby they would usually be assigned a car crew and they would make up the third officer.

They cannot be deployed on their own and only have limited training.

The attempted recruitment is not an attempt to police on the cheap.

He also says "It requires people to show tremendous bravery and courage as well as the ability not to be intimidated. (giving witness statements in court as an example)"

A police officer would feel 'intimidated' by giving evidence in a court of law?

What on earth is he on, a police officer is an officer of the court.

Court is an officers second home.

Also today he is castigating the Police Scotland Chief Constable.

"The Police need two things. A Chief Constable who has far better fiscal organizational skills to run a more resourceful and efficient organization and it needs to be far better funded by the Scottish Government."

We have news for you Mr Macdonald, since Police Scotland was established the skills that you mention have been the responsibility of the Scottish Police Authority.

"Ideally, Police Scotland needs to be broken back up and into 32 local authority area constabularies."

Mr Macdonald there have never been 32 police forces in Scotland and just why are you advocating that they are aligned with local councils.

The police are supposed to be totally free of political influence, so just why would you wish to create an East Renfrewshire Police Force?
