Among other items, Councillors will be asked that these increases are approved -


The regulations see an increase in the basic councillor remuneration from £16,994 to £17,470;

the remuneration paid to the Leader of the Council increased from £28,326 to £29,119,

and the remuneration paid to the Provost increased from £21,245 to £21,840.

The remuneration paid to senior councillors will also increase from £21,245 to £21,840.

These increases will take effect from 1 April 2019.


Each Member of the Council will receive a basic salary of £17,470 per annum.

Undernote referred to Resolution to Exclude Press and Public

It is recommended that the Council pass the following resolution:- "That under Section 50A(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, as amended, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act". Paragraph 1 Information relating to a particular employee, former employee or applicant to become an employee of, or a particular office-holder, former office-holder or applicant to become an office-holder under, the authority.
