Thats the second second time he has sounded more like an admin councillor than the leader of the opposition. Dont worry he will start to speak right in three years time, elections coming up.

Well of course , nothing HAS been done. Tom is to be applauded for his tireless forensic pursuit of this but the entire council both administration and opposition have simply swept it under the carpet . Is there actually a point to the opposition? Are they simply scunnered at another term being unable to implement anything? This is the ONE committee where the opposition outvote the administration yet they have done the sum total of zero.

In my opinion all elected members during the last term would have or should have known about these 'Extra' miles, dubious reasons for journeys, misuse of the electric cars.

So it is little wonder that Tory, Labour and SNP sat quiet.

I personally do not expect our current opposition to oppose the administration, however I would be very pleased if they did hold them to account.

From a recent Audit report.

No financial loss to the council??????????????????

We were told that as a result of this investigation it was discovered that the taxi firm was overcharging on a negotiated rate for journeys.

Councillors were using journeys for travel that was not authorised ?

Councillors were claiming for car mileage that was not authorised ?

Their expenses claims had all been paid out. Yet it is claimed there was no financial loss?

Who writes this stuff, yes the chief auditor.
